Privacy notice
Your information and GiWi
This notice explains the information GiWi uses to operate campaigns, payments, susu circles, organization payouts, safety reviews, and support. Last updated 27 September 2026.
Information we use
- Account details such as name, phone number, optional email, role, and verification state.
- Campaign, fundraiser, susu, beneficiary, payout, donation, message, and support information you submit.
- Payment references, status, amounts, fees, and destination details. GiWi does not ask you to store a card PIN or mobile-money PIN.
- Security and operational records such as one-time-code attempts, audit events, timestamps, and limited technical request data.
- Uploaded campaign media and internal identity-review references. Reviewers are instructed not to copy identity numbers into GiWi.
Why we use it
We use information to provide the service, authenticate accounts, prevent abuse, reconcile payments, review campaigns and identity status, meet legal and safety duties, resolve disputes, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information.
Who receives it
Information is shared only as needed with payment, messaging, hosting, storage, security, and professional-service providers, or with authorities when lawfully required. Public campaign content, organizer identity signals, updates, donor names that are not anonymous, and public susu details are visible according to the product settings you choose.
Retention and protection
We retain financial, fraud, dispute, audit, and identity-review records for the period required for operations and applicable obligations. Other information is deleted or anonymized when it is no longer reasonably needed. Access controls, encryption in transit, restricted credentials, audit records, backups, and reconciliation checks reduce risk, but no online system can promise absolute security.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Some transaction or safety records must be retained. You can choose anonymous display for a donation, but the payment record still exists for reconciliation. Contact us through the support page.
